The Challenge Foundation’s two key funding interests are charter school education (K-12) and social services. Its geographic focus is national, with an emphasis on the Southwestern United States. The Foundation provides matching, conferences/seminars, project costs (materials, equipment, etc.), professional development, curriculum, start-up, technical assistance, and program development grants. Recent grants have ranged from $5,000 to $80,000 and the foundation awarded $2.7 million in 2000.
