The Eisenhower National Clearinghouse (ENC) Online is a K-12 math and science teacher center website that contains a host of information and resources to help teachers, including curriculum and professional development opportunities. ENC also boasts an outstanding web page dedicated to grant writing tips and related information located at http://www.enc.org/professional/funding/writing/?ls=sn. What is unique about this page is that it focuses on covering most aspects of the writing process from the perspective of the funder – the people who read your grants and decide whether or not to fund you!
The resources located on the ENC website include "A Guide for Proposal Writing" from the National Science Foundation, the "Basic Elements of Grant Writing" by The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (a funding organization that reads hundreds of applications every year) and a "Grant Writing Tutorial from the Environmental Protection Agency. The best grant writers will tell you that they learned more about grant writing by talking with funders and serving as grant reviewers than they did in any grant writing course. That is why we encourage you to check out the outstanding resources listed at http://www.enc.org/professional/funding/writing/?ls=sn.
