Achelis Foundation
In 2002, the Achelis Foundation gave more than $2.1 million to education and other issues to nonprofit organizations in New York and several other states. Specific education interests include afterschool programs, arts/humanities, business and business to school partnerships, charter schools, colleges and universities, education associations, education reform, literacy, preschool education, social sciences and minority education. The Foundation provides conference and seminar, emergency, employee matching, and general support grants. Recent grants have ranged from $10,000 to $150,000.
