Grantwriter of the Month Barbara Stevenson

This month we are spotlighting Barbara Stevenson, a grantwriter located in California with nearly 10 years of experience. Barbara consults with nonprofit organizations on development strategies and developing fundraising plans; and researches and writes grants for government, corporate, and foundation sectors. She also has conducted rights negotiations with book publishers for on-line information services.

Barbara has direct experience in fundraising, having served as a development director and marketing director. In these capacities, she was responsible for planning and implementing an annual fundraising campaign, including all proposal research and writing; serving as staff liaison to board of directors; serving as staff representative to fundraising and planning committees; and serving as part of management team directing organization’s publishing activities. Her experience in marketing includes directing domestic and foreign sales, public relations, and subsidiary rights; executing advertising, sales promotion, and academic marketing; and conducting market research and marketing analysis.
