Stay Informed About Education Issues By Investing Just a Few Minutes Each Day

Are you a charter school operator who feels as though you have no peers to talk with about your specific school issues? Perhaps you live in a rural area, miles away from the nearest school. Or, perhaps you are one of many charter schools in your town, but you believe you are too busy to read publications relevant to charter schools or talk with other charter school operators.

Charter school owners, operators, and administrators are busy. Yet, it is crucial for our future success to stay up to date on NCLB regulations, new grant opportunities, new trends in curriculum and school operations, and a host of other issues pertaining to charter schools. So how do busy professionals do this? By using on-line resources that provide relevant information in a format that is quick and easy to read.

Over the past few years, many excellent resources have come online that provide information on charter school issues. Below is a list of newsletters, discussion listservs, and other such resources compiled by the National Charter School Clearinghouse. We encourage you to review and explore several of these resources and subscribe to 3-4 of the resources that you believe will help you and your school. In addition, please contact us at fir@aibt.edu with any other resources that you are using; or tell us about how a specific web site, newsletter, or listserv was especially helpful to you, and we will share that information with charter school operators throughout the nation. Together, we can help each other be even more successful!
