Grantwriter of the Month
* Christopher Morton *
This month we are spotlighting Christopher Morton, a grantwriter located in Minnesota with nearly 10 years of experience. Chris consults with nonprofit organizations on designing and implementing fundraising and organizational development plans, researching funding sources, preparing grant proposals, and designing and facilitating organizational strategic planning. Chris recently wrote the article "Assessing Your Need, Attaining Your Funding", published in the 2003 No Child Left Behind: A Solution Guide for Educators magazine from Learning Services, Inc.
Chris has direct experience in fundraising, having served as a development director at the Hazelden Foundation in Minnesota. Here, he coordinated all fundraising activities for patient aid for alcohol and drug abuse treatment services, youth and adolescent programs, prevention education programs, professional development programs, and research. He also directed all grant writing, direct mailings, telemarketing, special events, donor recognition, database management, and acted as major gift officer for individual donors.
