Somerset has been up and running for the past 6 years in Broward County, Florida. We were one of the first Charter Schools in Florida to achieve Southern Association of Colleges Accreditation. Somerset Academy began with two trailers and 50 students in Miramar, Florida. The concept of the school was to develop a school in a new community and get the community involved in the school from the beginning. The students walk a short distance, meet their friends, and continue on to school. Other children from around the community began carpooling. Today Somerset Academy now educates about 1,250 students spread out among four separate campuses.
