Question:

When is the next national conference?

Answer:

2004 National Charter Schools Conference

Push to 50: Getting the Final 10 States and Growing the Movement!

June 16-18, 2004 in Miami, Florida

Innovations by the U.S. Department of Education promise to make this event the best national conference ever. In a grassroots effort paralleling the charter school movement itself, ED is surveying professionals in the field to determine which issues and topics need to be addressed and how a national conference can best serve the charter school community.

In addition to the survey, ED will hold six open meetings with charter school professionals across the nation to develop the conference agenda and identify presenters, panelists, and discussion group leaders. To organize the content of this event, ED will engage the assistance of the Charter School Leadership Council (CSLC), a coalition of eight national organizations committed to expanding and improving the charter school movement. These organizations include the Black Alliance for Educational Options, the Center for Education Reform, Education Leaders Council, National Association of Charter School Authorizers, National Council of La Raza, Progressive Policy Institute, Thomas Fordham Foundation, and the National Charter School Alliance.

Additional information will be distributed and posted to the www.uscharterschools.org website as it becomes available.
